This table is designed to sit between two easy chairs of a similar colour. It is constructed in Ash and has a traditional styling, with a thick top which is made lighter with the presence of the undercut bevel. The legs have a bevel effect which compliments the top. The table’s proportions are such that the clients can sit in their chairs and their post dinner brandy (or a cup of tea).

These boxes were made for a number of clients. They can have a letter inlaid into the top if you require. All the boxes have hand-cut dovetails and are made of a variety of timber. The ‘A’ box is made from Elm. The top is walnut while the A is made from Maple – these timbers contrast nicely. The ‘P’ box is made from Mahogany (yes, it is from a sustainable source) with the P being maple, again. The Plain top box is made from Elm and Maple.

The brief from the client for this piece was to design something for their hall way which would keep those items which usually clutter their hall shelf, like keys and things that their children happen to have found on their way home from school! The nature of the hallway dictated the shape and dimensions of the piece and drawers were the answer to hide everything. The console carcass is made from Maple and has hand-cut dovetail joints. The drawer fronts are book-matched rippled Walnut burr. The drawers have hand-cut dovetail joints and the sides and back are in Maple which gives a wonderful contrast detail as the drawers are opened.

This piece was designed to sit at one end of a dining room and compliment the existing dining suite. The client helped choose the timber for the top and rails, from Elm that had been felled during the storm in 1987, and was particularly taken with the pippy detailing on the piece used for the front rail. This pippy detail is the result of lots of small branches forming from the main trunk.

This table was made for a client who had seen the side table made from Ash and had liked it but required one in a much darker timber to compliment her existing lounge furniture. It is slightly smaller than the Ash version as it had to fit into quite a small space!

The brief for this piece was to design a dining table that was large enough to seat a family of four, but small enough to fit into a kitchen/diner. A circular table seemed like the obvious solution. A request was also made to include a slightly retro feel hence the splayed out legs. It is constructed from saw-cut Ash veneer and American Black Walnut. Despite it’s name American Black Walnut isn’t black, it starts very dark brown and with exposure to light changes into a rich deep reddish brown. I cut my own Ash veneer instead of commercially bought knife-cut veneer so that I could make it much thicker. This will allow the repair any damage made by the client’s children.

I can build a complete kitchen from scratch, including the carcasses, in a variety of timber, build a single unit to increase storage space or build new doors for your existing units.

This side table is made from Oak. It has a deep lockable drawer. The top is quite thick, but it’s effect is lightened by using an undercut bevel. The legs are tapered towards the bottom which also gives a lighter feel to the legs and then returns to the original dimensions for the feet. The drawer front was specially chosen by the client as the really liked the contrast between the heartwood and the sapwood (lighter colour). They said that it looked like light falling onto the piece.

A speaker shelf was required which the client didn’t want to look like a speaker shelf. I suggested an Art Deco feel as the client had discussed his fondness for this particular style.

The brief for this cabinet was to provide some where to put the television and to hide the dvd player, set-top box and games console. The cabinet is made from Poplar (aka Tulipwood) and has two raised panel doors. Inside, there are shelves in a layout as specified by the client. The top overhangs on the right hand side so that the TV can be angled slightly to face toward the sofa from which it is most frequently viewed.

The two wardrobes viewed here are both made from solid beech with veneered door panels.
Inside, there are a variety of
features including
full and half-height
hanging space, shelving (which can be moved) and drawers. |
